"Just as drowning cannot be equated with swimming, mere existence is not the same as abundant life. We have been offered a new way to live - a new way to be human."
-Jon Foreman (lead singer of Switchfoot)
Checkout this prank that some of the OVPC staff decided to pull during Kids Camp... would you be scared? (starring: Hilary Faught, Thomas Stringer, Amanda Hutchinson, Peter Hewitt, Burton Ward, Brady Ward)
This weekend is Thanksgiving here in Canada and I thought I would just post something about it because I, myself, am really excited for it. Two days ago I took the bus to church and as I walked from the bus drop off to the church, I just thought of how thankful I am to have the freedom to walk the streets here in Canada and carry a Bible. For some countries it would be death!
This is a little bit off topic but the Canadian election is next week and it is the first time I am able to vote and I am registered and ready to submit my ballot! Vote Conservative: Keep Harper in! I am thankful for the leadership that the country has right now and I hope it's kept the way it is...
I am excited for this weekend because it will be the first time in 9 years that my family has been together on Thanksgiving weekend. I am thankful for my family and my friends. They are the people I love the most and can always have a good time with. In everything, though, I give thanks to the Lord for I am nothing without Him and it is this life that He has given me and He has given me so much. I hope everyone enjoys their weekend and word of advice: don't over eat.
Here's Napoleon Dynamite to tell you how to prepare some food for Thanksgiving:
Jukebox Pete presents the Song of the Week: This week's song is 'There Will Be A Day' by Jeremy Camp. This song has a yearning and talks about the hope we have in Jesus and that someday we will have peace and be rid of our burdens and see Jesus face to face. This song means a lot to me because my beliefs are so well connected with what the song is saying. Check it out! This song will be on Jeremy Camp's new cd coming out in november.
Here's a preview for a new blockbuster hit: Airsoft One. A new movie starring Aaron Hobbs, Thomas Stringer, Jonathan Jackson, Hilary Faught, and Brady Ward.
Here's a short clip from the unedited / unfinished movie--but it's in the works, you know-- and you can see for yourself that this action adventure flick will be worth microwaving at least one bag of popcorn for.
So here comes a new feature: Jukebox Pete. I'll post a song that is absolutely amazing or cool and you can check it out each week. You may have never heard of the song but that's under the radar talent for you...
This week's Jukebox Pete: Light On by David Cook
This new song coming off of David Cook's debut cd in November is the first single and I think it is amazing. The chorus is great Cook's raw-angst grabs you in... can't wait for the whole cd. Check it out!
David Cook - Light On Lyrics
Never really said too much Afraid it wouldn’t be enough Just try to keep my spirits up When there’s no point in grieving Doesn’t matter anyway Words could never make me stay Words will never take my place When you know I’m leaving
(Chorus) Try to leave a light on when I’m gone Something I rely on to get home One I can feel at night A naked light, a fire to keep me warm Try to leave a light on when I’m gone Even in the daylight, shine on And when it’s late at night you can look inside You won’t feel so alone
You know we’ve been down that road What seems a thousand times before My back to a closing door and my eyes to the seasons That roll out underneath my heels And you don’t know how bad it feels To leave the only one that I have ever believed in
[Chorus]
Sometimes it feels like we’ve run out of luck When the signal keeps on breaking up When the wires cross in my brain You’ll start my heart again When I come along
[Chorus]

So you may watch the video in this post and think it is pointless but it has much purpose. In French class (Fall 2007) we were given plasticine and the task was to make a food product and then promote it with a commercial.
I came up with a script with the requirements in a matter of 14 minutes, give or take... and a good chum of mine, Scott (as seen in the video), gladly helped me out by memorising lines and being apart of it (Thanks Scott!).
It was a success and the class loved it, even though I was very embarassed. That's the history of it for you! Enjoy this Oreo commercial (en francais):
Want to be inspired about life? Ever have trouble or need some kind of purpose of where to go or what to do with your life, maybe this will help you out. Check it out anyways, it's not a waste of time and I will definitely watch this anytime I need a little nudge to live life to the fullest... enjoy!
